I’ve been in Szeged, Hungary for about a week and it is going well so far.  The town is really nice, and the girls are cool, so what more can you ask for!    I like the apartment and my new Skoda Fabia is fun to drive.  But, let me mention the freezin’ weather… for sure I have never felt cold like this before!  It can be actually sometimes painful to walk to the car!

Practice has been going well… and yes, we have a lot of it.  Our first game is this Saturday, the 17th, but because of a Hungarian rule, I am not allowed to play in the first 2 games.  Those games are still yet to be played from the first part of the season and my first game will be on the 24th.  We are currently in 3rd place in the Hungarian league.  Unfortunately, our team fell out of the FIBA Cup competition in the 2nd round back in December.

Tonight we had, let’s say, an “alternative” practice.  We went to a ballet company and did ballet.   I know what you are thinking.. because I was thinking the same thing.  Is this a joke?  Would they like us to be more graceful on the court?!  Apparently, we have a cooperation with this ballet company to promote women’s basketball and ballet.  We go to some of their shows and they come to some of our games, as well as each of us participating in a practice.  It was definitely “interesting” to see our team do this and I had a few good laughs!  However, I really enjoyed it, since it has been a long time that I went through those kinds of moves.   I am sure that it will be hilarious to see these dancers pick up a ball, some for the first time, and play basketball.
